Apart from the Leadership ranks there are two different types of ranking, each with its own progression. The first is dedicated to "Raiding Members", and the latter is focused on the "Social Members" aspect of the guild, both of which are important to our success as a guild and are of equal status / standing.

If you have any questions about the rank system, or any of the criteria for any of the ranks, please ask.

Ranks:

  • Damned - Condemned or doomed, to eternal punishment: the wailing of damned souls.
This Soul is the Guild Master.
  • Condemned - To pronounce unfavorable or adverse judgment upon.
This Soul is the relief Guild Master should the Guild Master have an out of body experience.
  • Ephemeral - Lasting a very short time; short-lived; transitory.
This Soul is the Guild Banker who is promoted temporary to do banking tasks so that a compromised account cannot ransack the Guild Bank.
  • Enlightened - Attain spiritual or intellectual insight.
This Soul is the Manager of people and leader of activities such as Raids.
  • Chosen - Having been selected in regard to those who do not profit by their opportunities.
This Soul is the observer and participant of Loot council transparency and fairness.
  • Transcended - Rise above or go beyond; overpass; exceed.
This Soul is the front line of our Raiding team.
  • Possessed - Spurred or moved by a strong feeling, madness, or a supernatural power.
This Soul is the initiate of our Raiding team.
  • Awakened - Being near them puts you at ease. You will feel more like yourself and relax. It will be invigorating,
and there might well be frequent bursts of laughter.
This Soul is the loyal and dedicated member as demonstrated through nuturing the Labyrinth of Lost Souls community.
  • Risen - Return from the Purgatory.
This Soul has more affinity with socialising and the many varied aspects of the World of Warcraft.
  • Purgatory - A place or condition of suffering, expiation, or remorse.
This Soul has commenced proving themselves worthy of redemption.

Notes on Rank progression:

  • All new members will be initially ranked in Purgatory.
  • After some time period (usually 1 week) new members will be reviewed by Officers and promoted to Risen provided they have demonstrated behaviours in line with the Guild Policies
  • From time to time Risen members will be reviewed for promotion to Awakened in line with the rank requirement
  • At any time level 80 characters can request to be promoted to Possessed to commence the path to Raiding
  • From time to time Possessed members will be reviewed for promotion to Transcended in line with the rank requirement.
  • From time to time calls will be made to recruit for leadership positions as required.

Notes on specific Rank requirements:

LEADERSHIP RANKS

From time to time we will call for nominations for leadership roles. As a guide the following are some of attributes we will assess candidates against:

  • Leadership - contribution to the community, membership period and ability to lead activities
  • Demeaner - mature behaviour, a calm style, works well under pressure
  • Conlfict resolution - ability to listen, empathise, be impartial and be solution focussed
  • Trustworthy, loyal and dependable

None of us possess all the above qualities to an exceptional level however they are meant as a guide on what we look for and match to the differing leadership ROLES to create a leadership TEAM.

RAIDING RANK REQUIREMENTS

Possessed

All classes

  • Successful Trial period and showing performance increases over time.
  • Proven 100% knowledge of your class, rotations, etc.
  • Know encounters, but not expecting to be pro at the encounter due to possibility of limited exposure.
  • Have at least previous 10/25 man tier gear, badge gear or better equipped in all slots
  • Gemmed / Enchanted with best available
  • Attends most raids; is available for all raids even if they don’t get an invite. Willing to sit on wait list if needed.
  • Notifies an officer or posts on forums if will be unavailable to raid for an extended period of time (military deployment, medical or family issues, focus on school, etc)

DPS

  • Be within the high average of all DPS / Damage for encounters. Not expecting top 5/10 but be competitive. Preferably within the 20th percentile range of DPS. This needs to be on a consistent basis. (Exception on fights where you have a specific role which limits extended DPS rotations [this won’t be given to people in lower ranks])

Tanking

  • Quickly react to trash and adds to pick them up without other dying
  • Know best times to fire defensive cooldowns for general fights
  • Know how to best position mobs to maximize raid accessibility and dps
  • Be able to maintain threat strong enough to not lose aggro on average boss fights

Healing

  • Understands any healing assignments given, keeps their assigned target(s) alive
  • Good management of mana
  • Acceptable/appropriate activity levels and overhealing for class/spec/assignment
  • Uses dispel abilities frequently and without being reminded for fights where they are needed (shamans also dropping cleansing totem)
  • Dual spec with a competent DPS spec (should be comparable to at least the low-end of raid DPS); willing to switch specs and raid as DPS if needed. [Waivable by vote of all officers if they feel a particular healer needs to remain as heals] **NOTE: people willing to switch specs regularly and DPS frequently may get additional priority on offspec (DPS) loot.
  • Some healers may need two distinct healing specs to fulfill different raid roles (e.g. Holy/Disc) or have a special spec for a gimmicky fight, rather than a healing spec and a DPS spec.

Transcended

General

  • Wants progression and has a positive attitude about it; constantly wants to be challenged. Next to perfect attendance.
  • Proper epic quality gems / BiS enchants before you show to raids.
  • Minimum previous 10/25 man tier gear, and usually most current tier pieces (exceptions noted). Next to BiS gear (hope).
  • Completely knowledgeable in all parts of the game including other classes, and how the mechanics of these abilities impact the encounter outcome.
  • Willingness to help lower ranks in and pass loot to them.

DPS

  • Always has Haste potions or equivalent
  • Top 5/10 DPS consistently, or within 1% of the Top-5 (exceptions noted)

Tanking

  • Quickly react to fight changes in momentum to prevent wipes and keep mobs tanked
  • Maintain high threat to prevent aggro loss, threat loss mechanics excepted
  • Know best times to fire defensive cooldowns and to take advantage of healer cooldowns on all fights based on current guild strat.
  • Know the strengths and weaknesses of fellow tanks to best address each encounter

Healing

  • Clear understanding of boss fights and what to expect in role of MT healer or raid healer, anticipates what parts of fight will be spike damage/raidwide damage and uses abilities appropriately (e.g., Guardian Spirit, Pain Suppression, Divine Sacrifice, Aura Mastery, etc)
  • Flexibility in healing roles; is able to help with additional healing needed if another healer dies, without neglecting their healing assignment
  • Communicates well with other healers regarding allocation of healing assignments and buffs; is able to coordinate to use each class's abilities to their fullest potential to benefit the raid
